What this site records, and what it does not

No cookies. No advertising pixels. No IP addresses kept. This page says exactly what is stored, because a policy nobody can check is not worth reading.

Chowrest Property runs this site from Koh Samui, Thailand. If you want anything here changed or removed, write to chowtorest@gmail.com and a person will answer.

The short version

This site sets no cookies and carries no third-party script, no advertising pixel and nothing from an analytics company. There is a counter, written by us and running on our own server, that records that a page was read and that somebody pressed a contact button. It does not record who did either.

What the page counter stores

One row per page view, with five things and nothing else:

Seasonality

There is no IP address, no browser fingerprint, no user-agent string, no session and no visitor id in that table — not hashed, not shortened, not anywhere. Two visits by the same person are two unrelated rows, and there is no way to join them. The database itself carries a note forbidding the addition of any of those fields, so this is not a promise that quietly lapses the next time someone edits the code.

Because nothing in the counter points at a person, there is nothing in it we could find and delete for you even if you asked. That is the intended design, not an evasion.

Advertising links

When we run an advertisement, the link carries a campaign tag — the utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign you can see in the address bar, or the gclid and fbclid that Google and Facebook attach to their own links. The counter stores that tag in place of the referring site, so we can tell which advertisement brought someone here instead of guessing.

It is stored exactly as the link carried it, is not tied to anything about you, and is cut to a short safe length. We do not send anything back to the advertising platform, and there is no conversion pixel on this site.

Pressing a contact button

When you tap WhatsApp or an email address, or send the enquiry form, the page tells our own server that it happened. One row is added, exactly like a page view, carrying the word whatsapp, email or form, your country, the time, and the advertisement the visit came from if there was one. Not your name, not your number, not what you went on to write.

It exists so we can tell whether advertising brings people who actually get in touch, rather than only people who arrive. We decided against the Google advertising tag that would normally do this: it would have put a third-party script and a cookie on every page here.

To attach a contact to the advertisement that brought you, the page keeps one thing in your browser — the campaign part of the address you arrived on, and nothing else. It is held in sessionStorage, which is not a cookie, is never sent to anyone but us, and is erased the moment you close the tab.

When you write to us

The enquiry form sends us your name, and your email address, telephone number and message if you fill them in, together with the listing you were looking at. We use it to answer you and to keep track of the conversation. We do not sell it, and we do not add you to a mailing list you did not ask for.

Writing to us on WhatsApp or by email does the same thing by a different route. Those messages sit in WhatsApp and in our mailbox under the terms of whoever runs them.

Who else sees anything

ServiceWhat reaches it
Cloudflare
serves these pages
Your IP address reaches it, as it must for any website to answer you at all. We do not store it or see it.
Supabase
the database
The counter rows above and any enquiry you send. Hosted in Singapore.
TypefacesServed from this site. Until 21 October 2026 the two fonts came from Google, which meant your IP address reached Google every time a page loaded; they are now stored here, and no request leaves this site to load them.
WhatsApp (Meta)Only if you tap a WhatsApp link, and only then.

How long any of it is kept

Counter rows are kept while they are still useful for deciding what to write next; they describe pages, not people. Enquiries are kept for as long as we are dealing with you and afterwards for as long as a past conversation is still worth having on hand. Ask us to delete yours and we will.

Your rights

Thailand's PDPA applies to us. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, the UK GDPR or the GDPR applies to the enquiry you send us. Either way you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. One email to chowtorest@gmail.com is enough — there is no form and no account to log into.

One exception, on one page

The listing manager at /listing-manager is a working tool rather than part of the site, and it keeps the listings you are drafting in your own browser so they survive a reload. That stays on your machine and never reaches us.

Changes

If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date below moves. It is written from the code that is actually deployed rather than from a template, so if you find something here that does not match what the site does, tell us — that is a bug and we will fix it.
